Everybody Deserves a Massage Week has a delightful history that dates back to 1995 when the event was founded by an organization called Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (ABMP). This is the largest membership organization for massage therapy in the US, providing support to help practitioners and students succeed.

The purpose behind starting Everybody Deserves a Massage Week was to bring together the local and extended community of bodywork professionals, offering massage therapy to those who might not ordinarily be able to afford it.

In the more than twenty five years since its first celebration, the event has encouraged massage therapists to provide free or discounted stress relief and pain relief to thousands of people who need it!
