Ekka People�??s Day began in 1876 in Brisbane, Australia. It was initially known as the Intercolonial Exhibition.
The Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland (RNA) organized this event to showcase the state�??s agricultural achievements. That first year, about 17,000 people attended, which was remarkable given Brisbane�??s population at the time was only around 22,000.
