Overview
About the event
National Hazy IPA Day began in 2023. Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. teamed up with National Day Calendar to create it.
They launched the day to shine a light on one of the fastest-growing beer styles in the U.S. Hazy IPAs, also called New England-style IPAs, have a cloudy look and bold, juicy flavor. Unlike clear, bitter IPAs, these brews offer a softer feel and a burst of fruity taste.
The third Thursday of August now marks this hop-forward celebration. Sierra Nevada played a key role, as they helped bring hazy beers into the spotlight with their ??Hazy Little Thing? IPA.
Their goal was to honor the creativity behind hazy brews and give fans a reason to enjoy them together. Since its start, breweries across the country have joined in, offering limited releases, events, and tastings.
People responded quickly. The day became more than a beer promotion. It turned into a moment to share, explore, and learn about a style that keeps evolving.
