National Unity Day, also known as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, is observed annually on 31st October to honor the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel,
one of India�??s founding leaders and the country�??s first Deputy Prime
Minister and Home Minister. This day commemorates Patel�??s efforts in
unifying the princely states into a single independent nation after
India�??s independence in 1947.
